Chinese researchers published a study about the effects of curcumin on kidney stones. The study mentions that curcumin could significantly alleviate calcium oxalate crystal deposition in the kidney and the concurrent renal tissue injury. Moreover, the therapeutic effects with minimal side effects make curcumin a good potential choice to prevent and treat new or recurrent kidney stones. However, the usage of oral curcumin is much limited by its bioavailability (less than 1%). Nano liposomal curcumin could be one of the best candidates for kidney stone treatment.
