Apart from having a lot of vitamin C, grapefruit also has hesperidin that relieves CKD

Indian researchers published a study about hesperidin and its ability to cure chronic kidney disease (CKD). According to the study, carbon tetrachloride (CCL4) is a well-established renal toxin inducing acute and chronic renal injuries by producing free radicals. The study also mentions that hesperidin (a citrus bioflavonoid) can decrease the oxidative stress produced by CCL4 in the kidney.  This can be correlated to hesperidin's direct antioxidant effect on renal injuries. Nano liposomal hesperidin, a nanocarrier with high bioavailability and stability, could be the best choice for people suffering from CKD.

นักวิจัยชาวอินเดียตีพิมพ์ผลการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับเฮสเพอริดิน และประสิทธิภาพในการรักษาโรคไตเรื้อรัง (CKD) ผลการศึกษาบอกว่า คาร์บอนเตตระคลอไรด์ (CCL4) เป็นสารพิษที่ทำให้ไตเกิดความเสียหายจากผลของสารอนุมูลอิสระ และบอกด้วยว่า ‘เฮสเพอริดิน’ ซึ่งเป็นสารไบโอฟลาโวนอยด์ พบมากในผลไม้พวกส้ม มีคุณสมบัติในการป้องกันความเสียหายที่เกิดขึ้นในไตอันเกิดจากอนุมูลอิสระ แต่การรับประทานเฮสเพอริดินตามปกติยังไม่สามารถนำเฮสเพอริดินไปใช้ประโยชน์ในการรักษาได้ ‘นาโนไลโปโซมอลเฮสเพอริดิน’ ซึ่งเป็น Nanocarrier หรือ ตัวขนส่งสารที่มีขนาดเล็กมากระดับนาโน จึงเข้ามาเป็นตัวช่วยในการนี้ เพราะช่วยให้มีการดูดซึมได้ดีขึ้นและคงประสิทธิภาพได้ จึงอาจเป็นทางเลือกที่ดีที่สุดสำหรับผู้ป่วย CKD
